I ordered this because I was looking for a more discrete surveillance type earpiece. At first, when I received that I was quite skeptical. After inserting in my ear and hiding the wiring. I hooked it up to my radio and test call. The audio is quite good without any distortion. As far as it being discreet, it is very well-made and the wire is barely noticeable. That’s very close to most flesh types.
So I’ve been using the N*ear for a few years now but i feel the price is extremely steep. For around 50$, i thought that this would be a viable option. My honest opinion- spend the extra 40-50$ and get the N*ear.I’m an active LE and an interdiction officer. That being said, i use ear pieces 100% of the time. I have been through the spectrum of ear pieces and have some experience. The first thing i noticed is the fitment. The N*ear sits at your ear canal and doesn’t completely plug your ear. This version is massively big and even way bigger than the traditional tube ear pieces. It’s too big and hurt after about 3 hours. In addition to the figment inside the ear, the angle that goes from the chord around your ear into your ear canal is weird. It’s not really bent at all(thought it would be ambidextrous) i found that it was just odd to get it worked through your radio, vest, into place. Also the clip it came with is awful. It doesn’t clip to the wire very well and it slides around so you have an excess amount of earpiece wire by your dominant ear. I would give the fitment a 4/10The quality is not up to the N*ear but i would say it’s on par with the old tube style ones. It’s not crystal clear but it’s still good. I would say the quality is a 6/10. The volume was good though… better than the tube style.Compared to the n*ear this is somewhat close, functionally speaking… but it’s far from the real thing. The price point isn’t bad comparatively but i wouldn’t depend my life on it. It’s a good back up. I still ordered a new N*ear but I’m keeping this as a backup
So I think that this item is supposed to be a copy of the N-Ear or Sheepdog Mic type armature headsets. It fails badly at that and doesn't even come close. The cable is cheesy and tacky (sticky) and feels like it'll break easily, but worse than that is the armature itself.IT IS HUGE!I'm a big guy at 6'3" and I have been using the earlier mentioned brands of armature headsets for a while and figured I would give this one a try, and the armature on this set is so big it doesn't even come close to fitting properly in my ear canal. The armature is so big that it will not go past the entrance to the ear canal, and the fins or cones that it comes with are not designed to hold something like that in the ear canal if the armature itself doesn't fit in there. The sound quality is OK, but the fact that it doesn't even fit into the ear makes it a 100% unusable item.Don't waste your time with this.Even if it's half the price of the name brands, it is NOT worth it.
